Lanber 2087 fired both barrels at the same time

So I was ouy shooting sporting clays today and I was done for the day. My uncle wanted to try it out. So I handed him my shotgun. He fired both barrels the first time just fine. Second or third time it fired both barrels at the same time. I attributed it to him maybe not opening the action all the way, but I shot both barrels once without a hitch, then shot it again and BANG!! it did it again. I noticed when I got it back from him, that the selector switch was on the top barrel first. Not where I had it. But I had put it back to the bottom when I got it back from him. I clean the gun pretty much after every use. I haven't pulled the stock off to clean the parts inside the stock area since I got it about six months ago. It has about 3000 rounds thru it. Any ideas? Also, its firing them at the same time. Not a rapid bang bang.

Take it to a gunsmith, doubling is not a good thing.

I'd take the stock off, spray the action with penetrating oil (like Kroil), let it penetrate, wipe off, and then blow all the crap out of the action with canned air. Then LIGHTLY lube with whatever LIGHT lube you like (I use Break Free). Then re-assemble and try it again. Lots of these malfunctions are caused by gummy parts in the action.

If it doubles again, take it to a good gunsmith who KNOWS clays guns, not just any 'smith. (Some of these guys will give you the gun back worse than you gave it to them. Doubles ain't "black rifles," not by a long shot).
