My 870P does not agree with steel-base shotshells

Went out today to blast some stuff with the shotguns, an 870P manufactured in 2011 and my '68 Wingmaster.

Picked up a 250-round case of these:

My Wingmaster ate them up without issue; the 870P had a half dozen FTE's.

I had to mortar it in the dirt just to get the spent shell to eject.

First time this has ever happened, and I've put several different types of low and hi cut brass shotshell through this particular gun prior to today.

I gave the barrel a good cleaning last night, so I'm ruling out a dirty chamber.

Has to be the steel bases, anyone had this issue before?

Should work fine after breaking it in. Is this a new shotgun?

The Police has probably 500 rounds of assorted slugs and buckshot down the pipe, all of them were brass.

I inspected the shells that wouldn't eject, and didn't see any deformation or burrs on the steel.

It's not a big deal, I don't buy defensive ammo with steel bases.

Rough chamber that will be improved by some polishing as described by AI&P TACTICAL, LLC

Yup. I have a friend with an 870 express that hates steel base Winchester. It is just like you described it. I did some cleanup but it is still a b*. Rather than going too far, she will stick to other ammo and let it keep working itself in. It seems to be rather common with the express.

I have heard that new remingtons have been known to have a problem with those specific shotshells.

I picked up a bag of 000 steel wool this morning, going to try polishing up the chamber.

              Thanks for the input guys.

My 870 had an extraction issue with winchester bulk packs. I polished the chamber and also followed this vid on youtube. It eats up winchester bulk pack now.
