    Benelli Nova

recently picked up a Benelli Nova 12ga. Based on everything I have read about them, they hold 4 rounds + 1 in the chamber. Fired it for the first time over the weekend and was only able to load 2+1. I picked up the shotgun from another Calgunner.

Anybody have any idea as to why I can only load 3 rounds vs the 5 it should hold?

I also had a buddy with me who has shot many different shotguns and he too was having trouble.

    Thank you!

Is that meant to comply with some sort of state/local law? Don't want to remove it and then get busted

Think they come with it for hunting laws. Its okay to remove it as long as you aren't hunting water fowl.

Or upland birds, or big game, etc here in CA.

If you want to know about hunting regs, come on down to the hunting forum. You will get the right answers eventually.

That said if you aren't going to hunt take it out. If you might, just as soon leave it in if its a clays/hunting gun.
