    870 pistol grip

Im thinking of putting a pistol grip and adjustable buttstock on my 18" 870. I didnt want to at first but I decided to buy another shotgun (26") for bird hunting and clay shooting.
What the legality of a pistol gripped adjustable stock shotgun? does it need any other type of added saftey crap like an AR does? Also what brand is the best choice for this modification?

Putting a pistol grip AND adjustable stock on a semi-auto shotgun would make it an assault weapon. If the shotgun is pump, have at it. I don't think you'll have any issue with length requirements. Remington 870's and Mossberg have a lot if aftermarket parts available. Try a shock absorbing stock to reduce the kick.

An 870 is a pump shotgun...no legal worries. You can do whatever you want to it, short of chopping the barrel.

Check out the Knox stocks, they are awesome.

Just a note about the Blackhawk Knoxx stocks... Yes, they're great quality, fit great, work great... But they hit you in the face. Or at least I was of the people with that experience.

If I could fit a reasonable pistol grip stock for the 870 without that "cheek slap" problem, I'd buy it.

I see some 870 types at big 5 with the adjustable M4 style stocks and love em. I just think like M4 and AR stocks they are way way over priced. Hence my purcahse of an ATI http://www.atigunstocks.com/traditio...rip-stock.html
I would however like to have someday somthing like this..http://www.atigunstocks.com/tactical...ck-system.html
