Remington 870 express made in CHINA???

I am looking into buying a remington 870 express for home defense/clay shooter (really like the feel of it). I just want to make sure that these shotguns are being produced HERE IN THE GOOD'OL USofA!

I've been doing a little research and found that "some of the parts" maybe "CHINA" made? and others said that "it is all made here in the USA".

I'm tired of boosting China's economy and want to buy a firearm that will boost ours (that's why I bought a Smith and wesson M&P and not a Glock, no offense to glock lovers though).

I know that there are "knock off" chinese 870's but not badged with the Remington's name.

Please tell me that the 870 (express) Rem's parts are made all here so I can go buy one tomorrow!

    Thanks

I thought any oem gun parts or guns made in China were verboten under the Clinton ban? Please correct me if I am wrong other posters.

I'm sure you might consider this a novel answer, but why don't you try calling Remington and asking??

            Just for future reference:
trading with other countries actually boosts our economy as well as theirs, we're both better off than if we never traded in the first place.

I thought I would ask you guys first. But I'll call Remington today and see what's the deal.

              Thanks

It's possible that some of the parts are made in China, but all the important things, like the receiver, are made in the US. If the receiver were made outside of the US, it would have to be marked as such (like Springfield's 1911s). Unfortunately, you're going to be hard pressed to find an affordable shotgun that's entirely made in the United States. The reality of the world economy is that in order for companies to maximize their profits while keeping prices affordable to consumers, some of the work needs to be outsourced to countries like China, Brazil, and Mexico.

Not sure how buying a Glock helps China's economy, but okay.

To add to the Glock comment..... They are made here in the good ole USofA as you put it. The only thing that is imported from Austria is the slide and barrel due to the tennifer finish not being able to be produced here in the states. They have the molds here stateside and if you look at the frame of any Glock made since 2007 they do not say "Made In Austria" any longer. So if you buy Glock you are buying a mostly American gun. Can not say the same for Springfield XD or XD-m however. They are made in Croatia

                      On the contrary...

Have Two brand new Glocks, a G23 Gen4 "TMC" and a G36 "TRM", both frames stamped "Made in Adolph's Birthplace".

There are US made Glocks now with USA printed on the slide and barrel. I guess they found a way around the EPA regarding the finish.

^ I wonder if the finish is the same or if it is going to wear differnetly

Both made after 2007? I stand corrected then. Maybe they still import as well as make them here to keep up with demand. Or there is the possibility of these being NOS pistols... New Old Stock meaning they are new guns, just built year ago
