    Mossberg 930 jm pro.

    Hi Guy`s

I am new to this forum and in England,we don`t have many forums like this because of our restricted gun laws.
They will be selling the Mossberg model above here very soon and I was wanting to ask a couple of question, I have read most comments here but a couple of things I wanted to know.
    1. what does the "welding up the shell carrier/elevator" look like to stop the thumb pinch, anyone got any photos and what do you use to do it.
    2. Do they kick more than the Remmie 11-87,(had heart operation 3yrs ago found 11-87 not too bad)
    3.Anyone put a picatinny rail and/or a Red dot on the 930
    4. What is the best type of side saddle to use,Velcro or bolted,or not at all.
4 What is the best type of quick reload, single breakout belted or 4 carrier belted.
We only have the oportunity to shoot once a month and its only a small club and nothing too serious, I`m the oldest at 70.

I look forward to some good answers and thanks guys.

    Welcome to Calguns.
Kick should be about the same as a Remington.
I like the velcro side saddle. Easy off and easy on.
As far as loading, I like the twins, 2 in your hand and slide the shells in.
To be honest the best web site for information on competition shooting and
competition shotgun, is Brian Enos forums. Over 50 pages on just the Mossberg 930 and the modification to make it into the JM model.
Good luck with your choice. I have a friend who has the 930 modified for the USPSA Open Division and it has run great.
If you can't shoot good, at least look good shooting

Lot of videos on Enos forum on the Twins loading.
Kind of hard to explain, but shells are stacked two in line in a clip holder.
Grab the sells and flip your gun loading gate facing up, slide shells in and push, as move your hand forward. Super Set has posted videos on Youtube and many others.
I went from loading 8 shells (strong hand) one at a time in about 12 seconds to
8 in 7 seconds with only 3 hours practice.

I have all three of these. I'm a big fan of the "load two" method. Since you are in England you may want to try European version

(or give it a shufty or a butchers in British)

Calguns.net started specifically because of California's restrictive gun laws (relative to the rest of the USA). You guys ought to get together and form a cohesive on-line community.

BTW, lived in the UK myself 1993-95. Surbiton, baby!

I have shot both the Mossberg JM Pro and Remington Versamax Tactical back to back, the JM Pro's recoil is a lot more than the Versamax Tactical, the Versamax recoil is almost like shooting an AR15!
