Action Slide Tube size for Moss500 ???

First shotgun in jail, Moss500 combo.
I would like to change the stock and forend. Stock would not be a problem to change. But when i clicked on the forend, it asks me what size of the action slide tube do i have on my mossy. I dont know that answer to that question. I googled and it tells me that there are 2 sizes, 7 5/8 and 6 1/2, with the gun in jail, is there a way to find out what the gun came with? Thankyou.

Your big 5 combo does not have an action tube. Your action rails are pinned directly to the plastic foregrip. On a regular mossy you would simply unscrew the nut that retains the foregrip and slide it off. You are pretty much stuck unless you buy an action tube assembly. I put a surefire on my friend's combo and had to do the same thing.

That's not true. You most likely have the longer slide. It's not that hard to remove the forend from the tube, I've done it. Then you can put whatever forend you want on it.

Search you tube " mossberg forend remove ". There's some videos that make it easy .

@Agent88, How is that not true?
Sundayduffer, if you bought it from Big 5, then it is lacking the action tube. What Mossberg did for Big 5 to add the extra barrel without a huge cost difference, they put the Maverick foregrip assembly on it. Still a great value though.

I just bought the same combo a few weeks ago. It does not have an action slide. The rails are connectd directly to the forend. If you want to replace the forend the size slide you will need depends on the length of the replacement forend. I'm replacing mine with a maiko which needs the 7 5/8"

The shorter action tube is about 32 bucks and the longer one was 60 i believe. The nut is the same for both and around 10 bucks. The action tube assembly can be found at brownells.
