    VEPR-12 ordered in election day

I figured Obummer would win again so I did what any gunnie depressed by the sad news would do, I bought a new gun...a VEPR 12. I've been thinking about getting a Saiga 12 but the VEPR has so many nice enhancements I couldn't resist.

With luck I'll get to shoot it over Turkey Day!

Quit *****in about what might happen and go buy the scariest thing you can find!

I got mine from Atlantic. There are some threads over at Saiga12.com about the rails being canted and a few other mishaps. I have not been able to shoot it yet, but my Vepr does not have the canted rails. There was some VERY minor surface rust under the muzzle protector but that was solved in about five minutes with some Kroil Oil. This isn't a knock on Atlantic or Molot. I'm just a little surprised considering the shotgun came to me drenched in oil, more so than any other rifle or shotgun I've purchased.

Having never owned a Krinkov before, I was pleasantly surprised by how rock solid the hinged dust cover is. I'm sure it'll loosen over time, but I didn't expect it to be so sturdy. The bolt has two pieces which took about a minute for me to figure out how to arrange it to get it back in.

That pistol grip must be one of the most comfortable I've handled. I think I like it more than the Ergo grip on my AR. Wish they made the handguards in plum. I didn't like the Tapco buttstock in the pictures but it's looks decent in person and appears rock solid.

Aside from the minor rust blemish, it's visually perfect. Beautiful shotgun. It feels a tad bit heavier than the Saiga 12, but it's definitely manageable. It doesn't work the shoulders like an RPK. It'll be about a week before I can shoot it, but so far, I'm a very happy camper.

Thanks for that little overview there. Wish I could afford one right now. Pictures are mandatory in this thread!

Why does my pee pee feel funny?

That is a good looking gun!

edit, lol I just saw it has the fancier more adjustable rear sight. For those shotgun snipers I guess.

This gun is why there are so many s12 for sale latley.
Used saigas seemed to drop $200 since vepr came over.

Want badly. Major envy, but the call of the new blonde Russian SKS was stronger.

There are 10 rounder U.S. made magazines for sale by SGM. I've been looking everywhere, but they're currently out of stock. Shouldn't be a problem when they get caught up after the initial rush. I believe they're also working on a drum but don't remember with 100% certainty.

Yes, same threads as the Saiga 12 so all current muzzle brakes/flash hiders will work.

I have to find my camera first and I'm a ****ty photographer so don't hold your breath.

As I said, crappy pictures and camera. Atlantic's pictures are much better. Nothing like having fondling one in person.... Yes, I'm purposely making the wait all the more painful. Can't wait until the holidays are over and I have time to shoot this thing.
