I only ever saw one of these in the field.. A blind partner had a 10 gauge Bolt gun.. we didn't see any geese that day so he never fired it.. Seems a bit punishing.. I shoot a semi-auto 10 and it has adequate kick even with the gas action..

my first shotgun was a mossberg 20g bolt with adjustable choke, took my first 2 Pheasants and a lot of dove with that shotgun but ended up selling it and getting a 500 in 12g for weight savings... believe it or not i still have a extra mag for that bolt gun after all these decades incase i ever get around to replacing it .. i think it made a perfect fist shotgun for me as a kid, it also could take out water jugs like a boss with it's long barrel and buckshot ....lolOriginally posted by Ronald ReaganBefore I refuse to take your questions, I have an opening statement.Comment

If it weren't for that whole 20/12 gauge shell problem, I would seriously consider picking up a bunch of those 20 gauge bolt guns. They are running as cheap as $30. For that price, you really could hand them out like party favors to the neighbors if something bad happens. With that and a couple of boxes of buckshot you could turn your block into a zombie-free zone pretty quick.

My very first gun as a child was a bolt action 410. It had a 20" barrel and a 5 round fixed internal magazine. I eventually sold it, and highly regret that. It was such an awesome gun, and i never had a single problem with it. I would imagine the reliability on a 20 of 12 gauge would be just as good. If you can get one cheap, definitely go for it.Comment

I have an old Westernfield (Mossberg 385) 20ga bolt action in great condition, but I need a new mag for it. Love this one, so much fun to shoot. Was made for Montgomery Ward. Not sure however if it's a K or KA model, as it has a fixed "full" choke.Comment

My brother and I have messed around with his 16 gauge a good bit and I'm currently trolling for a 20 gauge mossberg 185 of the classifieds now. IMHO, they are basically a single shot, as I cant get off another quick shot, but they're cheaper than a crack barrel with no transfer or tax if you have a C&R.Buying a safe and sane firework is like paying a hooker for a hug. I do not see the appeal in it.Comment
