I have not seen one of these shotguns in person yet, but from what I read on the interwebs they have great reviews and incredible capacity. Tossing around ideas for my next purchase. Any first hand input?

Very few out in the world right now. Most of the ones I've seen out on the market aren't getting shot, but simply passed around for inflated prices. Stay tuned and give it some time, when they filter down we'll get some more solid feedback about them."If it wears out, replace it. If it breaks, upgrade." -Cranky Air Force Vet.

I told the guy at my local gun shop I wanted one and he just laughed and said "yeah, good luck finding one."Comment

I don’t own one but I’ve shot one.
They’re pretty neat, definitely compact. I found switching between the tubes a little awkward, definitely something i’d have to get used to in order to cycle through all of the rounds fairly quickly.Hauoli Makahiki Hou

Pretty much for all intents and purposes for most people, vaporware."Just leave me alone, I know what to do." - Kimi Raikkonen

IVE had one at a ridiculously inflated price, something to the tune of $1,400. It lasted 30 minutes after they sent the email.
The A12 is sweet, but it would have AW status just like the RAA 1919 and Saiga 12 and thus we get watered down CA versions. The KSG is not an AW with its pump action and manual tube switching.
Im finding most KelTec products are difficult to get ahold of.Comment

Don't own one but have shot one
I only shot 25 shells but the things I noticed are
Pros
Compact
felt solid and well made (but then again it was for only 25 shells)
It is really fun to shoot (and isn't that why any of us shoot)
Cons
Price over MSRP (wait a year or so and they should be much more reasonable)
The switching from one mag tube to the next would defiantly take practice to do efficiently
I see no practical way to do a tactical reload (top off)
It is awkward to reload
For me I have trouble seeing the practical purpose of the weapon
if you cant finish the job with out a reload you could easily get in trouble
I have yet to see or hear anyone who has put 1000's of rounds through it to prove its reliabilityLast edited by M27; 10-29-2012, 4:45 PM.I will share my opinion and my load data, BUT I am just a guy with too many cigars and too many guns. Whatever I say is probably wrong.Comment

In all Honesty its the dealers and distributors thats giving kel-tec a bad name. Keltec would have to hire about 200 or more ppl on there design team and on top of that slave work them to catch up with there back orders. I dont think its all Kel-tecs fault there a small company thats coming up in the world.Originally posted by Fortified PeasantF**k Kel Tec. Making cool stuff but not enough to supply the demand. I would love to have a:
PMR-30
Sub-2000 .40Cal
RFB
KSG
Alas, I will never own one because:
1. Kel Tec sucks
2. I refuse to take it up the a** and be raped by someone that was fortunate enough to get one.
3. Kel Tec sucks
As far as products there Ok...I have a sub2k glock 40sw, PMR-30, and Sold the SU-16c, and passed up the KSG for 850.00. I actually came a cross 2 PMR-30s cheap kept one and sold the new one with 5 mags for $500.00, The SU-16c in full AR mode sold for $550, my Sub2k paid only 300 NIB for it and I still have that one.
The KSG is cool but saiga 12 is the way to go
The KSG feels to cheap and lots of them are having different issues. Id still pick one up for 600 though no more than that!

Perhaps, but then there is how you manage and fund (or get funding) a company. I don't know squat about the inner workings of Kel-tec, but honestly from the periphery they seem to fumble marketing and production, have a background in common talk with QA issues, and in general seem unprepared or unprofessional (which one?) for real time. I hear more crap about Kel-tec than I hear their praises, for years now - and not just internet jabber. In all Honesty its the dealers and distributors thats giving kel-tec a bad name. On the flipside I see the point too - I think why not? Innovation, use of new designs, out of box thinking, all sound good. I leave no hyberbole that in reality firearms manufacturing is a hard business, but man... someone there needs to reframe, reorganize, restructure, or do something than be the butt of jokes year after year..."Just leave me alone, I know what to do." - Kimi Raikkonen

When u finally get to handle a KSG you'll know what Im talking about, it really doesnt feel like its worth paying more than 650-700. Its feels to cheap and it has alot of plastic parts on it. The rails are plastic and the teeth break with alot of vertical front grips attached. Kel tec needs to add steel parts to the KSG then maybe it will be worth 800 plus+ IMO the reason so many ppl like the KSG is cause its light and they dont wanna pay 1,200 or more for a converted saiga 12. But you get what you pay for! I know I would be upset if I paid alot for a gun and i have to send it back for repairsOriginally posted by Fortified PeasantHow did you get the chance to pass up a KSG at MSRP? I asked my LGS to order me a PMR, that was 2 years ago, still no PMR... Where did you find your PMR, or did you have to wait for it?
Same with the Sub 2K been waiting... I understand they are a small CO. but the sell everything they make, seems that they whould be ramping up production a little quicker.
If they do finally become a real firearmes manufactuer I will feal sorry for the fools that paid 2-4 times the amount their weapons were worth.
Same with the PMr-30 i feel one day its gunna fall apart it feels and looks like a toy. I picked it up two at a gunstore (no waiting list) they just arrived that morning and he had them for 329.00 walk out price. I just happened to stumble in for ammo and ended up picking both up one for me and one for my GF but she didnt like its hair trigger. It is a fun gun no doubt but there has been reports of parts breaking in the PMR as well. heres some pics i snapped before breaking them up

Sub2k never had a any issues now that gun is worth atleast more than MSRP its like having a glock 40sw that folds in half recoil is suitable.
The SU-16c was OK for a .223 but again with the cheap feel

Sold it to get this

If I could find a ksg for msrp or a little above I would buy one. But the odds of that happening currently are very slim. It is a very unique design and looks awesome, finally 14+1 capacity and ca legal is hard to beat. I just don't get why people are paying so much $$$$$ for them. Have they not heard of Benelli?Want to Buy: Ruger PC9 Magazine Buttstock PouchComment
