anyone use a "birds head" grip?

I want to make my HD shotgun more compact. I dont like the pistol grip that came with my mossberg. I have been hearing good things about bird head style grips made by speedfeed and Shockwave. I was wondering if any of you guys had any experience with them.

The Speedfeed is very popular with AOW users, supposedly mitigates a lot of the kick onto the palm of your hand. But nobody is shooting AOWs for accuracy, it is a door breacher or close quarters weapon. I've never tried the birds head but I have shot the Mossberg Persuader with the stock pistol grip and it ain't fun.

I got this for my 590. I haven't got around to trying it out yet. I think it makes a lot of sense for a mossberg what with the safety position. I say just get one. Not too expensive and most people don't know they are even available. If you really end up hating it should be an easy resell.

I bought a 1300 Defender in 1985 with the p/g. I didn't want to shoot much OO buck with it. It has a cut down stock ("birdshead") now and it is much easier on the wrist.

I had the raptor grip by shockwave tech. on my mossberg 500. I did not like the way it felt in my hand. It seemed to thin in my palm. I never shot it and sold it. I was contemplating buying another stock and doing some cutting and shaping (i was inspired by video of hickok45 with his shortened mossy), but i still went back to my trusty original stock.
