Ithaca Model 51 Barrels?

Hey guys, Was wondering if I can take a 2 3/4'' chambered barrel and put it in 3'' magnum receiver? I have an ithaca model 51 magnum featherlight and it is chambered for 3'' magnum. I found a 2 3/4'' chambered barrel on gunbroker and was wondering if that would fit. Anyone know if it would? thanks

Reason I am doing this is because the 3'' magnum is 30 inches long and has a full choke. I would like a 26''-28'' barrel (skeet/mod choke)

i dont know, but i have a 51 28'' barrell you can have. its factory without a vent rib. i bought a vent rib barrell years ago and will never use the old one . e mail me
