Please forgive my very newness to shotguns. I did a search
and could find nothing about cleaning and breaking in a new shotgun. So I will ask and hope that someone can help me.
I have read that you should break down (that scares me) my new 3901 and remove all of the packing oil. When I got my shotgun from the FFL it was oily. I mean oil everywhere. I couldn't even hold the gun till I wiped it down.
So, I need to take it part and clean all of this oil off and re-lube? All I have is either Hoppes or Frog Lube. Should I get something else?
I could really use some good advice before I take off to do trap shooting this weekend.
Thanks in advance and again, forgive my newbness. I am very new to any kind of firearms.
Does anyone oil or wax the wood stock?
