I have always wanted one of these stagecoach shotguns...Does anybody have one and how are they. I already have 2 870's 2 beretta's and 1 Hastan Escort semi Auto...

i too have been wanting a coachgun for no good reason except that they are just COOL! only bother for me is that i want one with ejectors and nobody seems to make it. mostly due to cowboy action nonsense that doesn't allow them. for those of us who don't like to play dress-up, why can't we have a hammer coach-gun with ejectors!? may have to make my own.

I recently bought a 28 gauge Stoeger Uplander SxS. I bought the shotgun sight unseen. When I got it at the FFL and held it for the first time it felt "cheap" to me. It didn't feel like it was worth the $400 price tag. I bought new because trying to find a 28 gauge SxS used under $500 is pretty much impossible. My recommendation is to buy used. I recall seeing some of these in 12 gauge going for around $200-$300.

As far as how it shoots, shoots fine. I've taken it out to shoot clays and it works. I patterned the shotgun last weekend and the pattern is where you expect it to be. I plan on using it for hunting upland game so it will be getting scratched and dinged.

Read a post on a different forum awhile back from a guy who has an external hammer/double trigger SxS set up for home protection. His thought was that one can keep the gun loaded, hammer on half-cock and if need be unleash both barrels simultaneously, then transition to pistol if still needed.... interesting approach
