Shot my 1st slugs today

Been shooting Shotguns over the years, mainly upland hunting, and never shot slugs.
Yesterday, someone was kind enough to give me a few boxes of 20ga. slugs. Just so happend that I have a like new Benelli Nova 20ga in the safe. So, I put 10 rounds down range today at a 25yrd target. I liked it! Think I'm going to try it again, after Halloween (can you say pumpkins).

Slugs are fun to shoot at paper, pumpkins on the other hand.... Sounds awesome!

Yeah man slugs are just fun to shoot at anything.
Last time I went shooting, we were using a tree stump to setup soda can targets. After all the targets fell I used my last 12 Gauge Slug and shot at the tree stump itself, I didn't expect it to but the slug went clean through the stump in one side and out the other. This stump was probably about 12-18" in diameter too. They are really fun to shoot, although when hitting paper it gets pretty dull and seems like a waste.

nice glad it went to good use. I will not shoot anything but slugs.
although when the M4 gets home I stick buck shot in it,lol

try a gallon milk jug filled with water.

watch it disappear.... that is what happens with a 12 gauge at least

Unopened 2 liter bottle of soda, shake it up real good then shoot it... BOOM! Sticky mess flies 30 feet in the air = fun.

Hmmm.....I do buy "targets" from the dollar store every now & then.

you gonna have to take me next time you blow up weird stuff. i am stuck just shooting paper.

I know I look crazy but I am a extreamly nice guy.
working on a .50 Beowolf upper next that should be fun with water jugs also.

The first thing I did with my new Supernova was place a big pumpkin at about 40 yards and load up with slugs before I even considered shot shells.

I planned on carving a smiley face with Wolf 1400 fps slugs... First shot turned the pumpkin into a donut... Proceeded to completely destroy it.

After that I was hitting a big pumpkin setup on a hill at 165 yards and hitting it pretty consistently considering open ghost ring sights and off-hand shooting.

Whoever said slugs weren't accurate?
