Which is a better buy

Depends on your purpose. The superposed is collectible, higher quality and a joy to shoot. 3" chambers are uncommon. It's also very heavy. I have one just like it. But it is at best a casual trap gun. Price looks on the high side, but that sort of condition is rare. Given the year it was made I would check to make sure its not a salt gun.
GTI is a good workmanlike citori clay games gun with interchangeable chokes. I'm not aware of any particular sentiment that its somehow collectible or better than any number of other citori versions. I have a 325 that I prefer. Both have a generalized stock configuration because sporting clays target presentations mimic hunting situations, so the citori is more versatile than the superposed. You can use it without fear of destroying collector value with a ding or two. Price is top of the market, but again, LNIB will always cost more than a lesser condition gun. -
Thanks for your reply. I'm looking for something I can use that will go up in value. So it's sounding like the GTI might be the way to go. Would you agree?Depends on your purpose. Define "Something I can use". Target shooters wear out guns on the inside and hunters wear them out on the outside. Collectors don't really wear them out at all because they don't shoot them.
The superposed in the ad was really a duck and late season pheasant gun in its day. You can't shoot steel shot out of it and duck guns don't look pristine for very long. If you intend to engage in a little casual or club trap shooting, it'll work. You can use it for other games, but it will feel a little heavy and slow.
The Citori is the more versatile gun, but even so, 30" barrels are a bit long for most folks, except for trap. You can adapt, but 28" is more common. If you take care of it, it will last longet than you and you can probably get most of your money out of it down the road.
My advice is decide what activity you want to engage in, get the right tool for the job and focus on the activity, not preserving the value of tool. There are thousands of shotguns available, not just these two.Comment

The GTI will be more flexible for certain activities because of the choke tubes. The Superposed barrels are fixed choked. The Superposed chokes are also pretty tight so that might limit your activities with it.
I am really interested in your "something I can use that will go up in value". Typically, not always, items go down in value the more you use them. I could be wrong but that is usually my understanding. If you took that Superposed out and dinged it, it would not retain it's value.
Are you looking for an investment or something you can go out and enjoy shooting that you don't fret about everytime you take it out?Comment
