Rem 870 problems

Can't get the shell lifter to work. Bolt moves backwards fine but will not engage to lift new shell to load. Any help would be great.

Did you field strip your firearm? If so, do it again and reinstall the bolt/action rails per the manual. If they are installed incorrectly, the bolt will rack but the rails will no engage the carrier correctly.

I will try again. I thought the rails only go in one way in the track.

there is some trick to pushing in little thin rails while you slide

the thing back together, totally not mentioned in factory manual.

What type of shell? Mine balks at Fed super cheap low brass.
