Quick poll, need to choose: which one would you get?

Only have a few days to decide, thought I'd post up here. What's the better 12 gauge score: a used but VG+ Remington Wingmaster Police Riot Gun (7 + 1) with updated, black polymer Remy furniture, or...

    ...a NIB Mossberg 590A1 (9 shot)?

In reality both will be good. I like mossbergs cause, well I own one. If you want to upgrade it later though, the Remington has way more options

I like my Mossberg 500, but I feel it is an inferior piece when compared to the craftsmanship of a Wingmaster (especially an older one)...

Remington made great guns. Many would argue the current 870's are still great. I think few would argue the older ones have a slight edge. I've always liked Mossberg's and have a new found appreciation of them knowing they're a family owned business and not perverted by a corporate conglomerate. When in doubt, by both. If you can't afford both now, get the Remington and get the 590 later. If you don't want both then buy whichever feels better in your hands.

I'd get the new mossy, just cause I don't think there is a huge diff between the two and the mossy is new.

I just bought my first. A 5-shot, Harrington & Richardson (EST. 1871) NP1-P18 12 gauge w/ a lifetime warranty, and most vendors I have seen are selling it for about $190 (+TAX+SHIPPING+DROS, so about $235 out the door).

I have had ZERO issues with inexpensive firearms (as long as they offer a lifetime warranty). Do whatever your wallet allows for...

So far the Wingmaster is cheaper (auction gun). I'm hoping it stays under the 590A1 price, as those earlier Remington's really do something for me. Kinda' like a '57 Chevy...

I voted the Mossberg 590A1, because you can mount a bayonet on it.

i chose my mossberg over the 870 cuz.... wen it comes to reloading.... nothing like not having to worry about my finger getting caught by the gate.... which if u havent felt is very pain full. and i got so used to it that i can thumb 2 shells at a time.cuz i usualy leave 2 shells in the mag tube for things that do go bump at night. besides that there are so many accesories for both. my potato can be ur potatoe

find a used winchester 1300 defender and call it a day. smoother, faster action than either of those, swings nice, and probably still cheaper. not as much tacticrap available but you don't really need all that junk. a good stock and forend is good enough.

I have a 590a1 9 shot... best shotgun ever made, I stand behind it 100%! That is until I pay a crap load for a different gun... then I will stand behind that one 100%!

Buy what you like! Who wants to listen to a bunch of crazy people online talking about guns anyway?

I would get the Rem. Nothing against the Mossy darn good gun. I just like the safety location on the Remington better and those old police guns are very well made.
