Rem870 with optic, what do you use?

I was thinking of picking up the MESA side saddle/picatinny rail combo set for my 870. Ive got a TacStar saddle on it now but it doesnt hold the shell very securely.
For those of you with a rail what kind of optic did you mount, and of course pictures are always good too.

Shotguns dont need optics imo..id also get rid of the sidesaddle. They tend to break off and strip screws..just get a buttsock shell holder and a bandolier

I agree an optic isn't needed, but I wouldn't mind a ring type sight instead of the bead

I find the simple, plain old bead front sight to be fast and reliable---sometimes the easiest way is best...

my 870 has an optic, mainly due to my wife's cross-dominance. red dot resolved this issue nicely.

870 has an egw picatinny rail with an aimpoint micro, mounted with an american defense quick release low-mount. she's a dream to use. meant the gun, not the wife. actually, the wife too!!

if you have any questions about this setup, PM me. i'd be glad to answer any concerns...

Convert that tac star to a card and slap on some velcro.

I like using optics for slug shooting. I've got a Burris Fastfire III on my Winnie Defender. Thinking of putting one on my semi-auto shotgun.
