Almost dove season feeling a little sentimental

She not the prettiest Browning but she's in great shape. My grandfather gave her to me on my 16th birthday. That was 22 years ago. He bought her new in 1957. Tonight she got cleaned up and ready to go for Saturday. How many of you hunt with sentimental shotguns?

Definitely a great looking A5. I hunt with the same gun circa 1966. Kills birds just as good as guns I bought last year.

Very cool, you make me want to try my hand at Dove. I have never been a big hunter, shot a few rabbits when I was a kid but my son has mentioned trying hunting so I may.

You should go. It is a lot of fun and they are tasty little birds. I look forward every year to the Dove opener. My dad and I never miss it. You will build lasting memmories and stories.

awesome A5 you have there. I also have my grandpas A5. He gave it to me for Xmas about 5 years ago when he was getting quite infirm. used it for a few pheasants and gave him a fine pheasant dinner. i think he was quite proud. he passed away in April 2011.

I also have the Parker damascus hammer gun that belonged to my great great grandpa vintage 1887 or so from down on the chicken farm in Hollister. used to blast at foxes and such trying to steal eggs and birds. probly hasnt been shot in 100 years. just gets taken out and oiled once in a while.

I love my Winchester Model 12. It's light, quick to shoulder, and points like a wand. There's just something special about some guns.

I have a Model 12 that I love. Made in '34.

Unfortunately, I haven't had the chance to hunt with it, or anything else, for the last ten years.
