    Legal to transport shotty in cali?

    Hi i just bought a Mossberg 500 and i was wondering if i can legally transport it inside a locked back in my trunk ?? sorry im new to fire arms

    Generally, you can legally transport a long gun (shotgun or rifle, as long as it's not a semiauto assault weapon) anywhere in your vehicle as long as it's unloaded.

    You can throw your Mossy 500 behind the seat of your pickup truck. It does not have to be in a locked container, etc.

    Keep the ammo separate, and preferably boxed.

    Some locales in CA may have more restrictions, but I don't think so, so far, for long guns.

      Long guns are fine to bring in. I would acctually prefer to buy my long guns out of state.
