Got to meet Kim Rhode

My local City was honoring Kim Rhode last night for her historic medal and achievement in the Olympics. What an exciting time, and a great woman she is. Meeting an Olympian is one thing - a gold medalist another, but meeting the only American to have medaled in five separate Olympics? It was nothing short of awesome.

Congrats to Kim on her achievements, and I know I will be rooting for her in the years to come.

As I said above, once-in-a-lifetime. Having those around my neck was crazy. Heavier than you'd think - and just as awesome as you'd think. Very cool.

Wow, she's really cool with letting people handle her medals. Looks like a great time was had.

Yeah, that was crazy. I'm not sure I could let them go if they were mine! She's really great about that - not just when I met her, but everything else I've seen about her.

One last picture...she signed my book for me. Asked her just to cross out the author's name, and she had a great laugh, saying she could never do that. I beg to differ. I think she could show many folks a thing or three.
