FAR better than the usual 870/500 stuff normally recommended here.

My first shotgun was a BPS, about 30 years ago. I've used it a lot but took care of it. The blueing is still in nearly perfect condition and I'll never get rid of it...

A friend of mine purchased an unfired one off of here. It's action is by far the smoothest cycling out of any shotgun I have fired. My only gripe about it is getting used to the bottom loading and how in order to load the first round I have to rack the slide all the way back and then pull slightly forward. Other than that, the gun is beautiful and the action is as smooth as can be.

I have had one for years. I am a lefty and it works great. Although I never had a problem loading the first round as tony mentioned. All shot guns load from the bottom. But it will serve you well.

Mine is not in real tree, but I love my BPS. Flawless operation.

Compared to my sons 570.... well, there is no comparison. You get what you pay for.

Forgot about the action. You will not find a smoother pump action. Even though I bought new, I remember window shopping and looked at a used 20 yr old BPS. I knew then and there I needed a BPS after cycling a few times.

//nice to talk about a pump action other than a 870 or 500. Almost refreshing.
///not that there is anything wrong with 870 or 500

I almost bought one at my LGS, but couldn't bare to spend that much on a pump. They are in a different class of quality, tho. They are a bit heavier than an 870 aren't they?
