There's a guy who is willing to trade me his single shot New England Firearms, Pardner SB1 20ga for a computer; but since I'm planning on turning around and selling it to pay for a safe, I'm wondering if it's C&R eligible so i don't have to pay the transfer fee. He said it was his grandfathers and he doesn't know how old it is, nor does it say on the gun what year it was manufactured. I don't really want to incur the extra $35 transfer fee since that would eat into my safe funds and I doubt i'd see it returned in my selling price.
Google isn't turning up anything helpful so i'm hoping you guys can give me a hand...

no. i want to know what the law is in regards to being sold a C&R gun cash and carry that turns out to not be C&R eligible. what would i be responsible to do upon finding out the gun's true age?
