anyone have any suggestions for a semi-auto shotgun for rabbits or birds? I tried my friends' Remington 1100 and I liked it, but I don't want to get the same exact thing as him. I want something else from a different company. any suggestions? I could get the 110 but I would prefer a different shotgun.

Wellll... you can't beat the M1100. But, Beretta has some nice ones! Just change gauges. If he has a 12, get a 20! Or, go to an 870 as they are also great guns and even more fail-safe than the 1100. ENJOY!"Outlaw guns and only outlaws will have guns!" Unfornately, we may be moving in that direction.

Other semi-autos you can't go wrong with are the Remington 11/87, Beretta 391, Franchi 712, or the Benellis SBE. Stoeger 2000 and Remington/Spartan SPR 453 get decent reviews at the lower end.
For a good mix of budget and quality, it's really hard to beat the 1100, though they're not flexible about a lot of different loads.

A .410 gun probably won't cost less and you'll spend more in ammunition for it. 12 and 20ga shells seem to be priced the same everywhere I've seen them.
$1000 probably cuts out the Benelli's (at least new ones). You can definitely get an 1100 or an 11-87 new for that price.Comment

$1000? Get yourself the Winchester Super X3 12 gauge. Save yourself some $ and forget the Benellis and Berettas.

DO NOT skip the used racks and pawn shops!!! And, on-line sales. I have purchased several on-line with no disappointments."Outlaw guns and only outlaws will have guns!" Unfornately, we may be moving in that direction.

I didn't see the Browning Gold or Auto-5 listed anywhere so I'm going to sugget them. If you need to load it fast, nothing beats the speed feed feature of the either the Gold or the Browning Auto-5. Chamber empty? Put one in the bottom to the magazine and it loads for you. No need to push a button to feed that shell. Used Golds and auto-5's can be had for under $600. Briley even makes a +4 mag extension for the Gold.Comment

OMG, I think I just fell in love
Is it already out? I definetly need to go see this gun!!!!! Hopefully my local Fountain Valley Turner's will carry it so I can either buy it or fondle it. Looks like an amazng field gun.
BTW, on Winchester's website, on a note on the bottom of the page it says that the gun comes with a removeable magazine plug that limits the gun's magazine to 2 shells. How can I remove that plug and change it out with a different one to increase the magazine capacity?Comment
