    930 SPX & M1A Scout

I went to the range today and shot a couple of my cousins guns. Today was the first time shooting a Shotgun and that thing kicks pretty good. Got some tiny bruises on my shoulder from it. I wonder if the Benelli M4 has less recoil than the SPX.

The Benelli kicks harder....a LOT harder, because it's inertia operated vs the SPX is gas operated. I have both..the SPX is tame compared to the Benelli.

The SPX is surprisingly easy on the shoulder, even without reduced slugs and buckshot loads.

              Its all technique
Properly mount that shotgun and you can shoot all day without a bruise.

The M4 is gas operated. The M1 is inertia operated as is the M2 and M3.

                      This.

My 930 was also my first shotgun experience.
Put a couple hundred rounds through without any shoulder strain.
Maybe you're not holding it properly?

My "Bad"...had a M1 Super 90 tactical...thought Benelli kept with the same theme of inertia operation for low maintenance and reliability.

M4 is Gas Operated and the SPX runs on diesel

(sorry, BigDogatPlay, had to copy your style! Hope ya don't mind! )

Recoil is not that bad, especially with the Mesa Tactical Urbino stock with "limbsaver" recoil pad.

So the recoil on the M4 is about the same on the SPX?
