870 question

I have an 870 express, I wanted to know if a 28" barrel will work on it. it's a remington 28" rem choke, it says "use 2 3/4" and 3" shells in magnum receivers, use only 2 3/4" shell in all others". it may sound like a dumb question, but from what i understand i can use this with my 870 express, right? i don't wan a blow my hands or face off thats all.

Pretty much shoot what ever your barrel and reciever are marked as.. Most 870 receivers can shoot 3" shells.. If your barrel ready only shoot with magnum I think your barrel probably ready up to 3 1/2" shell.. At least mine did and I think all magnum receivers are up to 3 1/2" because standard 870s shoot 3"...

But only shoot what both barrel and reciever can handle in your case probably only 3" shells max. But if both barrel and reciever say 3" or 3 1/2 obviously that's the max you can shoot safely.
