Do everyone a favor, pull a schematic and use the proper name. It makes discussions much easier in the long run.

If the Forend Tube Assembly is broken, then yes, you must buy a new Forend Tube Assembly.

thats what i did, it said it was the action rails which is part of the forend tube. when i look up forends all i find is the forend and the pic does not show it with the action rails on it. i can not seem to find the action rails or forend with action rails as a kit.

You need part number 102324 which retails for $34. You can call Remington at 800-243-9700 and follow the prompts to parts and order from them.

Scroll down this page... the 28 is on the left on page 5 of this list. You will need to select which guage your gun is to get the correct part number.

You can call this seller (Numrich) to find out if they have the kit you mentioned.

Stop confusing yourself and just call Remington and get the part I told you to get. There is no kit. You need the forend tube assembly and I gave you the part number. Order by that part number or they will send you the forend tube assembly with slide and you will pay for a part you don't need.

Wow, what a rip off that place is. They sell the forend tube assembly with slide for $65.20, yet anyone can call Remington and get the forend tube assembly with slide for $45.

This is common. I have been telling people to call Remington and follow the prompts to parts to order and most every time they will save money. For example. Midway sells the 20" bead sight I/C Wingmaster barrel for $129.95 yet call Remington and it is $117. Always down load the Remington parts list and check the price of something before you buy from anyone else, including me.

Right. I always tell people to order barrels directly from Remington (or from you ) and they think I am crazy.
