    Remington 870 follower?

    Hello all,
Which aftermarket follower is generally considered best when it comes to replacing the stock orange one? GG&G? S&j? Remington aftermarket?

    Thanks

I've had a couple (wish I could remember all of their names off the top of my head) but this is the one I've been running for about a year now and recommend. Its cheap works well and never hangs up...

For full disclosure I make, and sell both if these.

Precision machined 6061 aluminum, orange anodized face, Mil-Spec Dry-Lube coating. Tactile indicators of empty tube (bump or hole). Won't crack or break like plastic followers can, and won't disolve in gun cleaning solvents.

Tactical: For all extended magazine 870 shotguns (will not work with dimpled tubes)

Sport/Tactical: Works in all 870 shotguns.

I've had problems with my OEM piece, usually binding while loading. I didnt know if that was specifically the problem, but it was the cheapest option, so that's what I started with and it was fixed. I got the Wilson one, it was cheap and worked.

IMO, the S&J Hardware follower is the best on the market. They can be ordered directly http://sjhardware.com/store/modules....&filter_id=123 or from King Armory http://kingarmory.com/s-j-hardware-products/

In my opinion, I like the GG&G version. It's all aluminum and glides very very smooth. You can even rub a coat of thin coat of oil on it using your finger tips to help it glide even smoother. http://www.gggaz.com/remington-870-follower.html

              I replaced my factory follower for two reasons with the GG&G version;

#1. The factory follower is a .25 cent piece of molded plastic. It's cheap and it's crap. You can squeeze it inward, and I'm sure over time it might even break.

#2. My factory follower caused serious binding issues which in turn caused loading and feeding issues. For example, I was only able to get 5 rounds into the tube with the factory follower because of its binding. With the GG&G follower, I'm back up to all 7.

It's a simple and cheap upgrade regardless. A must for all 870 owners!

+1 for Vangcomp. The ones posted above are nice as well. Vangcomp is designed to clear grime and dirt as well.

Stock followers are almost always junk. I use an S&J on my Hatsan MP-A.

Well I never even thought about replacing the factory follower. It is a .25 piece of junk. It may be time for that thing to go.
Although I've never had any problems with it. That I've noticed....

I had one on an almost new 870 break into three pieces while out hunting... Did an excellent job of jamming to gun up at a very inopportune time...
