    Winchester SXP Camp/Field combo?

Is this a decent shotgun? Im looking for something for HD and also something I can take and shoot some clay or even bird with if im in the mood for it. After chatting at my local gun store this gun was mentioned to me. It comes with a 26" and an 18" barrel and can be changed pretty easily. Anyone have any info on this rifle?

It's a great shotgun, look it up on winchesters website. It has some parts that make it act like a semi auto (auto eject) which is a plus, but otherwise, it's a solid gun that is a successor to the 1300 series.

I have one and it's been shooting nicely busting up clays!

Since the main purpose would be HD I would like to add a tac-light and a side saddle. Anyone know what options I have for these accesories for this gun?
18" barrel would be on it most the time and the longer barrel would go on every once in a while to bust some clays.

i have the big brother to this gun, the winchester SX3 autoloader. AFAIK and have found there are 0 aftermarket accessories for these guns. i held it and did not like the sxp as an HD gun the racking lacks authority IMO. i would reccomend a remmington 870 or 590 pump since they are cheaper have more parts available and are much more common. or just buy a Winchester SX3. i love mine to death and i think its better than the bennelli SBE

I have thought of the 870 and 500, but this one seems to fit my dual purpose wants better. Unless im missing something you CANT add a longer barrel when wanted to the 870/500 to shoot clays or birds right?

I bought the HD model about a year ago and its great! It dosen't have any aftermarket accessories but I don't think you need any.

To mount a light you can get a universal tri-rail for shotguns. Its about $20 from botach.

I mounted a side saddle on my buttstock but now I regret it and will be removing it and plugging the holes. I might change the stock to a pistol grip stock from ATI. They make an adapter that makes any mossberg 500 stock fit the winchester SXP.

They feed and eject the tiny Aquila 1.5" mini shells. Mine holds 9+1 of the mini-shells and recoil is minimal if any.

Yes you can add a 28 inch barrel for clays hunting and all purpose field parts in addition to a home defense shotgun with an 18 inch barrel. Check out remmingtons site for the 870 they have package deals that come with a camp and field combo you just have to look for them in gunstores. Big 5 usually has a package deal for the 870 and mossberg 500 with 2 barrels
