Browning Silver Hunter Review

I just got back from a dove hunt in Argentina. I took a pair of bnib Browning Silver Hunter 20 ga 28" bbls. Most of the guns you see down there are either Berettas or Benellis, the belief is the other manus don't hold up to the volume of shooting. I have always shot Brownings better and the last time I went I rented Benellis from the lodge, and they beat me up.
Over 3 days of shooting I shot over 4k rounds and the guns were the best I have ever shot. I finished at 87% for the three days shooting. I was with a group of buddies and they all fell in love with them too. They are lighter than the Beretta 391s and the Benellis and the recoil also seemed lighter. We were shooting Argentinian shells and out of the 4k + rds I had 3 shells with bad primers and two double feeds. The last time I was down there I had a lot of problems with the benellis I shot. Traveling abroad with guns is kinda a pita, but I will definitely bring my own from here on.

I shouldered that 20ga silver hunter that you have in the store... Holy Crap is that thing light! I have been seriously considering a light 20 ga to get smaller stature shooters (girlfriends, younger kids, etc) shooting clays a little more reliably. I am glad to hear the gun took the abuse that you inflicted over the 3 days.

That's just pure excellence. Showed the wife, and even she couldn't help but think that looks primo! Were all the guys in your party there together? What a trip. One day, I'll do that. Bucket List!

Yea one of my buddies setup the trip.. The Guy that has the world record for most dove in a day got it from the same lodge we were at. He shot over 12k birds in one day. I could have shot 3-4x the amount I did, but my back was messed up. We are going to start selling hunts down there, so if you ever get interested let me know.
