A Stoeger side by side with a Vaquero .45 Colt Stainless Revolver Im wanting.

These are just cool and fun guns.

The Stoeger side by side/ Coach Shotguns are good to go, right?

Consider the Stoeger a near-disposable shotgun. Cheap to buy. Cheap to buy its replacement. LOL.

Who else makes a quality side by side? I've only seen Stoegers in the shops.

CZ also makes somewhat quality sxs shotguns for reasonable prices, although since the shotguns are made in turkey, they are not up to the quality of the CZ rifles and Semi-Auto handguns.

What used to be the cat's meow isn't made anymore, the Rossi Overland. I had one, and if you can find an example, buy it. The Stoeger will work. I had one of them for a while and never had an issue. It was as tight locking up when I sold it with probably a thousand rounds down the pipes as it was when I bought it. I've read that they are used to some degree by cowboy competitors. Won't put a big dent in your wallet and goes bang.

There are Chinese made coach guns that go on sale at Big 5 from time to time. I wouldn't buy one. The examples I've handled were just not what I would consider anywhere close to well made.

Baikal, which is Russian made, makes a coach gun that is imported by US Sporting Goods. You'd probably have to order one on line to get it as I've not seen them in stores around here. I'm very fond of the Baikal o/u line and their single shots. If their coach gun is anywhere near the same level of robustness, it's likely a keeper.

Personally, I would buy a used Fox.

The Stoeger SxS coachgun is a real workhorse and I don't have any reservations recommending it.

There are a few minor tweeks but easy easy to do.
