Need Help Identifing a Shotgun.....

Can anyone help me figure out what kind of Shotgun this is?

Looks to be a Winchester 1300

Just trying to help my friend identify it, how do you know its a winchester 1300, winchester 1200 or 12? Just curious how you can tell its not a remington, mossberg?

I honestly don't know much ahout shotguns....

Have you or your buddy bothered to look at the receiver and check for make and model? Lol

But Look at the receiver of the gun where it meets the stock it has an angled end, which is notorious with the Winchesters.

How many shells does it hold?
If it holds six it is a 1200 Or if it is 7 it is a 1300

The 1200 was only chambered in 2 3/4" But made one that was a magnum chambered in 3". If it is a magnum it will clearly say so on the side of the receiver.

The 1300 was a new and improved version and fired both the 3" and the 2 3/4".

yea its a win 1200 or 1300 defender you can tell by the stock where it meets the receiver its a bit harder to tell if its a 1200 or 1300 the differences are minimal

Yes is there a problem? Snap caps weren't made to look pretty .

they put the markings on the barrel i think there is just a serial on the big black aluminum hunk

Okay, I pulled my defender out of the safe. It should have these markings on the left side of the barrel by the receiver:

Winchester Model 1200 Defender 12 ga. 2 3/4" & 3"
Made in New Haven, Conn, U.S.A Winchester Proof Steel
