Mossberg 930 feeding issue

I installed 3 shot extension to my 930. It feeds properly if 5 rounds are loaded but any more than that and it will not "throw" the next round onto the elevator for feeding. Any thoughts?

I will assume that you replaced the spring, and is the correct length

Who made or sold the extension?

definitely need to know who made it. also make sure its screwed on there properly and if it extends or portrudes out long enough you will need to put a barrel clamp.

ive had to replace a tube on my 870 due to the tube not being threaded properly to screw on and be flush with the receivers end.

Extension is a choate and yah replaced the spring too. Can't figure it out. When fully loaded the spring is under max tension and yet it's not kicking the rounds out when the spent round is ejected.

What length load are you using? Hopefully nothing short of 3".
Also....High brass seems to work best for these 930 and 935's.

That gun is designed to run both 2 3/4" and 3" shells.

If you're loading low recoil HD loads, try some reqular velocity or hi-velocity rounds. It may not be getting enough gas to run the action hard enough with the mag spring at full tension.

Don't worry about hi base or low base. Look at the velocity. This base issue is an old wives tale.

It won't load even hand cranked. I put the regular spring back on with original nut and all is fine. Strange

I'm betting that new spring is catching on something in the tube. Shine a light up that extension and see if there's some spur sticking up.
