    Phoenix Kicklite Stock

Just got back earlier today from Coyote Sporting Clays, by the way, a great first time experience. Anyway, got a chance to try out my new Mossy 500 with the Phoenix Kicklite Stock. The felt recoil was pretty small however, the problem was my cheek! When I got home my cheek looked like I was punched! This was after about 80-90 rounds. Anyone else have this problem with these stocks or was it the way I was shooting.

I can't say I've used the phoenix, but my cousin let me use his SG with the Knoxx recoil reducing stock and the same thing happened. I think it is common among those stocks to beat up ones face. Hopefully someone will jump in with the proper way to shoot them so your face does not get beat up...

      ><

Did you hit any clays at Coyote? Were you shooting Sporting Clays, Trap or Skeet?

Did you have any formal instruction or just out with the buds?

Do you have a pistol grip on your SG?

Hard to come up with an answer by just a post. the only way to solve the problem is to see you mount and shoot your shotgun.

I'll be teaching a clays clinic this Sat at Metcalf and there is a one on the
14th if you want some instuction and learn to mount and shoot properly.

        1. I thought I did alright for my first time out, I would say I hit about 50%.
        2. No instruction, just my bro-in law and myself.
        3. Yes, pistol grip with AR style adjustable stock.

If I had to guess, its a matter of how your mounting your gun. If you can make out to Metcalf.....the mystery will be solved.

Are the KickLite adjustable stocks with grip legal in California? I wanted to put one on a Saiga.

I don't know that model but I am guessing it is the same as other types and if you go to my web site and click on the red link "Breaking in the 870" I give the proper way to shoot recoil reducing stocks. May work the same for the one you have.

If you're going to a gun fight, take a shotgun. If you can't take a shotgun, don't go.

Yikes. Collapsible stock with a pistol grip makes a semi-auto shotgun an illegal assault weapon.

                Fine on a pump-action.
