Why are berrels so dam expensive?!?

I'm looking for a 26" ish barrel to go trap and skeet shooting with some friends and I'm looking around here and don't see a thing and go one eBay and see barrels going from $170 to $200 for a barrel alone...

How is that possible when you get buy a wing master for $300 in ok condition and the barrels of these things cost 3/4th that price...

Why are these so expensive right now?

          ><

People are getting into clays and switching their barrels. The 18.5 can be had for $100

Its just supply and demand, alot of shooters are looking for field barrels with interchangable chokes.......a few years ago it was reversed

          Thats my guess

You can probably rent a shotgun at the skeet/trap range to try first?

Not for many, many years. The last Mossberg sporting barrel I bought was ~$170 new from Midway.

Watch the auction sites and the parts forum here. Decent take off sporting barrels pop up often at reasonable prices from guys who've bubba'ed a sporting gun into something tacticool.

Yea I have tons of buddies who have 28" pumps I'm just trying to figure out how a barrel can be $150 if the whole shot gun is around $300 for a wing master.

So I should be able to get a receiver and everything else for $150... I highly doubt that.

Don't know if it takes chokes though

14 hours left current high bid 65.50. If you think 870 barrels are expensive check out beretta and benelli. They are twice as expensive.
