I get mine out of jail on thursday, thinking the 1st mod will be a mag extension.

I want one as well. I did find this though:

Maybe check this thread out before adding the extension tube.

I have two. My first was a benelli branded that allows a total of 7 and the one I run for ipsc is a Daves Metal Works for a total of 9. Between nordic and DMW, I would go with DMW again. I have a nordic on my 870 and like the daves much more... AND it comes with a follower. I would suggest getting a barrel clamp for your extension.

that thread made my brain hurt! there was so much back and forth on it, I really didnt get a straight answer.looks like I got some more reading to do. Since mine is marked made in italy I may have an issue, if so Not really sure I want to keep a 5 shot shotgun, it was given to me in leu of debt owed to me.

found this about making an m1 922r compliant:

how hard is it to swap charging handles on these? no stranger to guns but have never had a shotgun nor worked on one before.

If it is HK branded, it is preban and not subject to 922. If not and it is made in Italy, you have to deal with 922 which the Daves Metal Works extension kit has 2 of the 3 necessary parts.

If it's anything like the M2 or any other Benelli I've used you just pull on the CH perpendicular to the direction of the barrel and it pops right out.

As for 922(r), I made a list with a reasoned count of parts and such a while back when discussing this very topic. I'm not a lawyer and that post isn't legal advice etc. but theoretically you should only need to replace the mag tube and follower to be at 10 or less foreign parts so it's is probably a moot point if your is exempt from 922r or not.

There are two different ATF papers flying around the internet. One states 12 parts and the other 13... I would replace 3 just to be safe. The charging handle simply pulls out(charging handle does NOT count for 922 on the benelli).

Mesa stock or surefire foregrip are your only options. I personally don't like pistol grips on shotguns. You should try it first to see...
