Stoeger 2000 carrier keeps blocking bolt

Hello, I am trying to fix a Stoeger 2000 for a friend. Once the bolt is locked back, once released the carrier pops up and blocks the bolt midway and it sticks there. I was curious if anyone has experienced this problem, and even better if someone can guide me to what to check. I think the cartridge stop that is in the receiver does look off to me, but I don't know as it is not my firearm. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Jay

Clean and lube? Does it get stuck when loaded? May just need to be worn in. Send it back if new.

Hello, I have cleaned and lubricated all the parts of and in the receiver. It occurs every time to include when loaded. I have attached a pic to show what happens every time bolt is released. The shot gun is not new and I believe it's discontinued as far as no longer made. If you have any thoughts please let me know. I did order and try to replace the carrier latch and its pins and springs. That actually made it worse. The new latch had different diameter pin, and holes in the piece itself.

      Thank you,

Question when the bolt is stuck like in the pic, can u push down the gate with ur finger or it is stuck at up position? How about u pull the bolt back can u now push down the gate?

u should be able to move the gate up and down freely. If not then something is wrong with the trigger group, it may have been installed incorrectly.

Hello, when the carrier gets stuck in that position, which is every time you release the bolt; you can push back down. I can push down and then I have to grab from under the receiver and the bolt will spring closed. It is very frustrating. I have two parts coming in the mail soon, I hope and will give that a try. I have a trigger guard (base for all the internal parts) and a carrier release latch. I am hoping it is one of those.

          Thank you,

          Jay

Something is probably installed wrong in the trigger group. I can actually simulate your problem. Slowly move bolt forward, carrier will come up. Using a pencil, pushing down the carrier will cause the bolt to be stuck in place. To unstuck it, I have to pull back the bolt and allow the carrier to raise. You are having the reverse problem. May want to remove the trigger group and trouble shoot.

I have taken it out several times and gone over it; although, I do agree with you it has been difficult to find the issue on the group. I think it may be the carrier release or the main body of the trigger group is out of whack somehow. Maybe it got set down on the trigger group or something. I hope by replacing those two parts I may be able to fix it. I do agree it's something with that group but finding it has been hard.

              Thank you,

              Jay
