    My Mossberg 590A1 20" for your 18.5

Figured id post this in the shotgun discussion, if any of you have an 18.5" mossberg barrel and mag tube i will buy them or trade you my 590A1 20" barrel and tube.

barrel MUST be compatible with the 590A1 but doesnt need to come from a 590A1.

Should be an easy enough trade. The 20" barrel and mag tube are harder to find. If you want to just sell it, I may be interested.

You likely won't get any traction in the "discussion" forum. You'll need to post it in the "marketplace parts and accessories" section instead. That is where people sell and trade things. This is just people talk about. Some people can be really rude about pointing this out. Glad you didn't experience that. No keyboard tough guys today. ;-)

You are going to need the Barrel, the Mag Tube, and the Slide from an 18" 590A1. I found this out the hard way as there are several different iterations of M500/590 Mag Tubes and Slide assemblies, and the barrel has to be able to attach to the Mag Tube, which is peculiar to the 590 series guns.

If I was you, I'd just buy the right ones from Mossberg directly as that is the best way to insure that what you get will actually work. I have several others that don't work!!!

You can get top dollar for your 20" stuff here or on Ebay! Definitely what you'll pay for the for the new 18" stuff.

Randy! Thanks for the little but extra tid bit! I had assumed that ANY maverick88/ mossberg500/590 barrel that was 12gauge would plug and play needing only the barrel and magtube.

On Second thought I'd leave your gun Set Up the way it is, and go buy a used M500 and set it up like you want it.

My first M500 was a 18" gun. At the time Brownell's had a 20" Bbl. with Rifle Sights and the longer Mag Tube for $116. I bought those and Created my first HD Shotgun, This was the gun I did my First 3 Classes at Front Sight with and got hooked up with Vang Comp and developed my set up that makes these guns a pleasure to shoot. In Fact I shot it at the Thunder Stick Summit a couple of months ago.

Then I found another M500 at my local Hardware Store for $160 I had already traded for an 18" Bbl. with Rifle Sights so I sold the Wood Furniture on the gun for $150 and bought a Magpul Stock and Fore End So now I have a House Gun for HD. Then I bought the Monkey Berg (M500 made for Montgomery Wards) and Set it up a little different so I could use a Rifled Choke Tube,

Then I found the Auto Berg (Mossberg 500 made for Western Auto Stores) and since I had a Fully Rifled Barrel in the Safe It got that and it is a .73 Caliber Rifle now.!

                    IMG_2499.jpg

Then I got another one and had a go at making a Mossberg "Special Field" to mimic the "Remington 870 Special Field?"

So there you have it! You can do lots of interesting things with these Shotguns!!!

And I Finally got the Pics to show !
