Beretta 1301 Tactical Pro Shell Lifter Install

For those of you who bought their 1301 Tactical about two years ago when OceanBob was showing us all of the cool mods from Aridus, the Magpul Zhukov and Magpul SGA stocks, the one thing my 1301 Tactical was missing was the Pro Shell Lefter that is now standard on the 1301 Tactical V2. I ordered the lifter from Beretta and it just arrived. I spent the afternoon taking the trigger pack apart and installing the new lifter. From a gunsmithing perspective, it wasn't too difficult but there are some finer points in removing the spring actuator rod and spring that rides on the dogleg lever at the rear of the trigger assembly. I use the old AR trick of removing it inside a plastic back in case the spring and actuator rod went flying. There is also a tiny retaining clip that fits around the pivot rod that holds the shell lifter arm that you have to be very delicate with and not bend up or lose, it's very thin spring wire.

The original shell lifter that came stock was sort of brushed Satin finish and the Pro Lifter is a shiny nickel finish. Once I got the trigger pack together, I function tested it here with dummy shells and it seemed to work great, then I headed out the range and pounded four boxes of shells through the gun, speed loading and topping off the whole time. No more having to push up on the shell lifter as you load the magazine tube and no more catching your thumb in the loading tube or the shell lifter snagging your thumb as you load in a hurry. It also makes Ghost loading and loading for Cruiser mode much simpler and quicker.

Highly recommended if you have one of the V1 1301 Tacticals that didn't come with the Pro Lifter, spend the bucks and buy this and install it, it is a huge improvement in loading the 1301 Tactical. Man I love this shotgun, it is a dream to run and run hard.

That lifter kinda looks like a Benelli.
I have had lots of Benelli trigger groups apart.
There are definitely a few small little tricks that make it easier.

Might be the same as Benelli as Beretta owns them. We know companies like to share parts when they can!
i used some gaffer tape to tape the shell lifter in the down position to make it easier to get that spring and actuator rod back in the hole on the dogleg.

I installed the Pro Lifter on my good ol Beretta 1301Tactical. It was a nice upgrade.

I followed this video for the installation, and it was very helpful. As stated in the video; there were a couple tiny parts that tended to eject themselves across the room, so be careful when doing the installation.

I should have looked this one up. I just took it apart and winged it but came to the same conclusions as this YouTuber did.

My 1301 Mod 2 came with the pro lifter and yes, it is an awesome system for loading. And yes, the 1301 is an awesome firearm.

People who want a semi auto tactical shotgun and haven't shot a Beretta are really missing out on something incredible. My 1301 has become one of my top three firearms in my collection, it's just a dream to shoot.

I'm glad they finally started selling the 1301s with the pro lifter. It's a must. I did the install myself. One quick tip. When assembling the part, do it insinde a large plastic bag to avoid losing flying parts.

100% That spring actuator arm with the spring is waiting to go flying if your needle noses lose their grip. And that little D shaped retaining spring is so tiny, super easy to lose.
