    Beretta AL391

How many rounds can I expect to shoot out of AL391 before the gun is worn out?
This is with regular cleaning and replacing worn parts as they come up.

Tens of thousands, tens and tens of thousands.

You will probably not shoot it out, ever and if you KNOW you're going to compete really heavily and shoot that kind of quantity then invest in a quality over/under which you will never wear out.

$600-$900 depending on condition and what variant you get...a Teknys around $1100 in good shape.

Just to emphasize how good they are, I bought a demo gun from a clay target club that was used as a demo gun for 9 years...probably well over 30K rounds through it with no problems.

Very impressive! Just got off the phone with a friend of mine. I asked his recommendations and he said he had a 391. He also said his likes the hi velocity rounds. The low recoil rounds wont feed. As long as he shoots the hi velocity rounds and you clean it it will run forever.
Does your 391 eat all ammo or is it finicky?

Mine cycles the managed recoil loads which travel around 800 fps and are 7/8" oz. My wife shoots it with 1 oz loads all day long and never has had a problem. I have had mine fo over 10 years and it functions flawlessly even after MANY, MANY rounds.

The 391 has a compensating gas system and it should fire a wide range of rounds. Maybe your friend needs to check if all is okay.

My 391 shoots anything I feed it. About 5 rounds of skeet a week for the last 8-10 years.

Good to know. Thanks Steve. Looks like the 391 is for me. Gonna shoot 1 tomorrow and will buy 1 later in the week if I like how it shoots.

Love my 391 only problem I had was when I first got it, I didn't push the second round all the way in and it will fail to load the second. Kind of my fault though.
