    Browning A5 Wicked Wings 12ga.

Bought the gun new about a year and a half ago, no issues until this year. I continue to have problems with the gun cycling, it will eject the fired round, pick up the next shell, but not return to battery. I shoot primarily 3" shells, Kent, Hevi-Shot and Boss, it does this with all of them.

It feels like the return spring is anemic, much lighter than my old Browning Gold. I know that my mount and grip are solid. I break it down and thoroughly clean it after each outing, it makes no difference.

I plan to send it back to Browning. Anyone else had issues?

I'd call Browning and talk to them.
They should be aware of any common issues (not that they'll tell you it's common).
They might even send you the spring for free to see if that fixes it.
As a first try at fixing it, that would be a whole lot easier for you and Browning both.

Have you tried backing the magazine cap out a couple of clicks? It worked for me on some weak ammo.

I'll try that the next time out.

Browning was sending a shipping label. It has not shown up, their service at this point seems a little lacking. I might be changing brands in the future.

All the major bird seasons are over for now. And I know you have plenty of other shotguns if needed. Send I back to Browning and let them deal with it.

If you haven't received it yet, give them another call.
They should just email it to you.

I contacted them last October and got the shipping label within 10 minutes of talking to them.

I went online and used the repair form to print a shipping label. Insured it and sent it to Browning. They have had it for a couple of weeks, I received a notice that a shipping label was requested, the firearm had been evaluated and repaired. No notice of what was done or offer to cover shipping at my expense for a warranty item. When it's returned I will update the post.

Got it back, no notes or emails on what if anything was done... I haven't had time to shoot it yet. Maybe this weekend.

My son used it this weekend on a fun trap shoot, it worked flawlessly. I emailed Customer Service to find out what was changed, or adjusted and they responded, " Our Gunsmiths don't proved detail as to what was adjusted or replaced." Don't use RemOil on your guns internals." They recommended CLP, which is what I use... They also suggested that I run it a little wetter. I usually apply the CLP and wipe it dry.

                        What a load of crap.
Zero transparency on what was done to something you own.
You know they documented whatever was done.

Although it may be a waste of time, I'd call them and and try and have them look it up.
                        Push them hard for information.

Their lack of response doesn't inspire me to buy anything they make.

I'm glad it's fixed on their dime and working for you.

I assume that this gun is a New Model A5 as opposed to the old style A5 Humpback? If it was an old style gun and stopped cycling properly it is "Always!!!" Lack of Lubrication on the Friction Ring around the Magazine and the Guide Ways for the Barrel in the Receiver.

As far as Lubrication, JMB Recommended 30 Wt. Motor Oil.! I have personally upgraded that to Amsoil 20-50 "Racing Oil" which is full synthetic, and seems to stay on the job better than regular oils. 1 Qt. will last you a lifetime !!! If you use it in your Air Compressor Pump it will coat the inside of the tank and it will NOT Rust Out! My AC in my Shop is over 30 years old and got it right out of the box. Draining the water it looks like White Soapy Water with no Rust whatsoever.

I use that oil on all of my guns, and the original A5 was not really a gun at all,,, It was "Machinery" and needed to be lubricated as such!

                          Hope this helps somebody?

You are correct, it is the new A5.
