    Remington 870

My brother has a Remington hunting shotgun wants to know if he can interchange his barrel to a hd 18" barrel. Is that possible?

Yes it is. Remington makes 110 barrels for the 870 12ga and every one fits every model except the new HD Model that came out this year and the MCS model.

If you're going to a gun fight, take a shotgun. If you can't take a shotgun, don't go.

Thanks for the quick answer! He's a novice in shot guns and bought a hunting when he wanted a hd, and was about to sell it. He bought it maybe a couple years ago so any should work? Just not the new ones?

Is there anything else I would need besides the barrel?

So there's no need to change the fore arm?

There should not be any problem if you are only changing the barrel. If you decide to attach a side saddle carrier (6 shot Tacstar for instance) then you will need to cut the forearm down or change it out....but for just changing the barrel you can keep it stock.
