My M16a1-ish clone with CMMG .22 BCG on Aero lower and attached AOW'd R870 with 14" barrel, and PSA carbine kit with airsoft M203.

I've actually taken this to Livermore Rod and Gun for trapshooting twice (with 18" barrel)...I've actually managed to get at least 50% hit rate because the shotpattern almost matches the iron sights at 16 yards. Anyone with a pistol-grip only shotgun should AOW immediatley, the ATF EFORM1s are apparently getting approved in just days vs the 79 it took me 2 years ago. You can also just have them standalone with a brace and have the only legal "SBS" for AOWS are the only NFA items allowed other than old C&Rs

Interesting. AOWing a shotgun allows a barrel shorter than 18" with pistol grip, correct? Also, did you have to set up a trust to get your stamp in CA?

No it's just an individual Eform 1 you can submit online to the ATF and a hard copy to the CLEO (your local chief or even the attorney general), and take a prefilled livescan form to a provider like UPS store. And $200.

Then weeks later you get a .PDF file with a little stamp in the corner and that's it, you're ready for shorty shotgun time
