    Yep
I have a SureFire on mine
For my bedside shotgun a light is mandatory and Surefire has been making them forever.
They are stout, durable and very bright.
About $225 or so and worth it IMHO.

+1 Surefire on my old HK M1 Super 90. It's a proven formula that works.

Surefire on mine. I suggest LED because of the instant on and off. They are plenty bright and damn hard to look at on the receiving end. They are stout and durable. Integrated switches are always nice so there isn't any fumbling with velcro switchs and such. Another perk is that the light is on the bottom. You can use corners as cover and don't have to worry as to which side you brace up against and render your light useless.

Whatever light you choose it has to be LED. Incandesent light filament just can't handle the recoil for extended periods of time...there's nothing to break in and LED bulb.

Mossbergman - Incorrect. The surefire light for the m1s90 originally came with an incandescent bulb. I have two of these and they are still running strong.

i just took a low light class and used my shotgun.

weapons mounted light is the ONLY way to go. handheld techniques suck. surefire integrated into the fore-end is the best and easiest to use. i tried a rail mounted surefire scout and wasn't happy.

Corbin, lucky you. I ran the Defensive Shotgun course at Front Sight for 5 years where I witnessed almost all incandesent bulbs fail if they were left on the gun during the day shooting. In fact one of my students went through 6 bulbs during the skills test for a dedicated 4 night low light course. Scary thing was this guy accually had 6 lights/bulbs.
While I still have an old SureFire forend with an incandesent bulb on my AR, all my other guns are LED, absolutly no filament to break. So the advice still stands, if you buying a NEW light, buy LED and you just have to carry spare batteries.
I respect your input Corbin, and your expertise in electronics, but really would you buy a new light system for your long guns with incandesent bulbs if LEDs are available for the same price point?
