    Escort 12 gauge semi auto.

What do you guys think of the Escort 12 Gauge semi auto. My Dad's buddy wants to sell him one that has a broken extractor for $100. That would be a deal if this broken extractor is not going to be a frequent thing. I haven't had a chance to speak to my gunsmith about it yet. Just wondering what you guys thought. Thanks.

Call the company to see how much it would cost to replace the extractor plus shipping, etc.Add the $100 cost & see if it's worth it. I believe the total cost would not make it worthwhile.

I have the pump Escort Legacy. If something breaks, I'll just deep-six it.

I would agree. Also look at the mag tube ( I am not too familar with this gun ) but is it impossible to get mag tube expander or what type of gun is it patterned after. Always think why the guy wants to sell it - maybe he wants to dump this turkey and by a pump 12 gauge.

It is just a broker extractor. It happens on a lot of guns. Some of you act like it is a major deal. They are very easy to replace. Call and find out if you can get one. Replace it before you buy it, test it out and find out if it is any good. If it is, buy it. Legacy Sports Int. has good customer service they will replace it for free or send you the part for free. The ones who always call a gun junk are the very ones who don't own one, or have never even seen or held one. Only listen to feedback from the ones who have owned the gun you are thinking about buying. All the others are just giving lip service.

          The gun is only $100.

I believe these guns are made in China.

I have not seen one and thats cool.

This is more general. Some extractors just break - thats is expected. When they do break - check to see if the chamber has light rust or pitting. Some times the best extractor breaks when it cant remove the shell and it is the weakist chain in the leank.

Turkey feels better than chinese. They may have a local gunsmith as a service provider. Your milage may vary.

Always - Caviet Eptor - sorry my latin is rusty maybe like the chamber.

i have a escort 12 ga semi auto 3.5" 28" bbl. i love it, after the 200 round break in, it cycles great with just about anything i feed it. i have about 500 rounds through her now, and it was worth every penny ($299 on sale)
i say make sure u can get a spare extractor, see how much for, and if its less than $40 than $140 is a great price for that shotgun.

The salesman at Turners in Long Beach said it is made in China. They may be wrong.

                        Very wrong.

ETA - And what would be the issue if they are made in China?

Sight for manufacturer looks very active. With a rep in OK. One extractor. Looks like it is Based on the Browning Auto 5. There are differences thoooo.
Looked at manual for Legacy and easy to get close look at extractor #MK-6.
