Scattergun Tech. +1 spring length

I ordered a Scattergun Technologies +1 extension for my 870 and the spring seems awfully long at 29", which is the same length as the factory +2 extension spring. I tried three different kinds of ammo (Federal Tactical 00 buck, Federal #8 birdshot, and Remington 00 buck) and only had issues getting the fifth round of the Remington 00 buck in.

Did I get the wrong spring? If so, what's the correct length for the Scattergun Tech. +1 spring? If I got the wrong spring, would I run into any problems by cutting it down to the correct length?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I have a Wilson/Scattergun Tech +1. Just measured it for you - it's 21". The spring Scattergun supplies is a Wolf spring and I believe you can cut it. I would simply contact whoever supplied it and get the correct spring. If you cut it, you will loose the double coil at one end.
