    Mossberg 930 SPX Spring Length?

I just received my SPX parts kit order directly from Mossberg today to fully convert my 930 to the 930 SPX. I just measured the spring and it came in at 40 inches with no tapered ends. I know early SPXs had problems and had shorter springs with tapered ends and I am wondering if I should just drop in this spring as is or cut it down? I got the 930 2 months ago and received the Choate SPX extension and spring today so everything should be the latest generation. Throw it in at 40 as it came directly from Mossberg or cut it down?

For my SLP. I take the end cap off. let the spring hang out and cut it so no less than 12" is hanging out. This gives me reliable feeding, and easy loading capabilities. I replace the spring every year, and have a spare on hand.

Unfortunately my new barrel has problems as the seal (not the one on the piston but the other one that stays as a part of the barrel) is not centered so I cannot slide the barrel over the magazine tube. I am waiting for the Mossberg supervisor that sent it (Javier Contreras) to call me back so that we can sort this out. Hopefully they will not take too long as I had already waited 2 months for the 18.5 barrel. For now I will keep using my 28" barrel for clay games to work on my shotgunning as I am new and am trying to shoot it as much as I can on the weekends
