    Home Defense Loads

I know 00Buck is probably the best way to go.

Does anyone use 7.5 shot as a HD load? How would they fare in this situation?

Not what I'd bet my life on.

And this subject is hashed over nearly every week. The most recent thread petered out a few days ago.

Here's another, longer thread within the last month.

I would definitely use 7.5 birdshot for HD...if my home were being invaded by a flock of zombie geese.

Actually, IMO, 1B is more effective than 00 for HD, especially now that Federal has finally released the long-awaited LE132 1B.

7-1/2's are NOT what you'd use for geese...

let alone for HD, though there are idiots here that would/do.

True wealth is time. Time to enjoy life.

Life's journey is not to arrive safely in a well preserved body, but rather to slide in sideways, totally worn out, shouting "holy schit...what a ride"!!

Geese was just a metaphor. But, if the zombie geese were within 5-7 yds, 7 1/2 would do the trick.

Depends on home style, occupants, proximity to neighbors.

Yeah the way I've heard, 7 is the "safe" option, but it may not stop reliably, but its sort of an eternal thread on gun forums.
