New Saiga 12 needs New Buttstock

Howdy

Just got my Saiga 12 last week and hoping some help tricking this out.

This Saiga already has the pistol grip and forward trigger like the AK, so as far as I can tell any of those combination recoil-reducing stocks + pistol grip won't work.

We found a nice-looking piece to adapt the receiver to an AR style stock from Mississippi Auto Arms.

From there, the plan is to use an Endine Shot Shock AR style shotgun buffer and a nice AR stock. Yes, the stock will need to be pinned in position to comply with the law.

Big question, is what stocks out there are really well suited for a shotgun with a good sized contact patch and a nice plush pad?

Also, I'm still open to suggestions on any hardware you all have used for recoil reduction.

I put the magpul moe on mine and pinned it , also added the extended butt pad for a lil extra cushion . It works well . Theres no need for a shock absorbing tube , that's for girls !!! Haha trust me my girlfriend shoots mine all day long and doesn't complain

I'd have to ask what kind of rounds you're shooting. Though I just bought this I've shot more than a few boxes thru other Saiga 12s in the past. First saiga had the folding AK stock with a contact patch about the size of a deck of cards. Barely tolerable with game rounds, let alone mag buckshot or slugs.

This one has a little better stock AK style, but still too short and not enough contact. And, zero cushion.

OK, so if you were using the Magpul MOE then what adapter were you using? I see that R&R Targets also makes a nice one.....

When she shoots it she usually shoots clays , so it's the value pack stuff . There's a huge diffrence between that and 1oz slug but she can shoot about 5 rounds of slug before complaining about her arm bruising ( I got the a Winchester shoulder pad to shut her up ) hahaha . But either way she shoots it all day , it's actually one of her fav guns . I picked up the polymer tube with moe stock for 90$ at missippi shooters supply ! Took about 10 mins with a file to fit but it worked out great , I didn't go with the back plate because I didn't want to cut the tang on my reciever

OK then, that's what I guessed. I have shot my buddy's with an ACE and 1" pad and it was alot better. The value pack stuff isn't that bad even without a pad.

We're not planning to shoot sporting clays, though I'm sure that will be done. It's gotta be ready to throw buckshot and mag slugs....

Good to hear that others are using the shot shock. It's a nice piece of kit. Now just need to find the right adapter and stock.

I have 4 saiga 12s

I'm running:

#1 tromix + limbsaver
#2 Carolina shooters + cheek rest and ace 1" recoil pad
#3 ace 7.5" stock with 1/2" recoil pad
#4 polymer tube adapter (http://store.carolinashooterssupply....4-Stock/Detail) plus pinned magpul Ctr with enhanced buttpad

Try the tromix with limbsaver, it's a great piece without the need for a bunch of hydralics

you can get an adapter from Carolina Shooter Supply, they have various ones for converted and non converted guns, then use a pig nose and the shot shock will screw into that. if i can get pics om my setup i'll post them up for you.
